Website WELLSFARGO
We’ve helped people go further with their money since our founding by Henry Wells and William Fargo in 1852. With innovative solutions that evolve with the times, we continue to help our customers get ahead.
If you have ever wanted to lead a team where your work directly impacts tight-knit communities, local businesses, and families, this is that role. We are looking for a District Senior Manager to lead our retail branch network across the incredibly beautiful, unique territory of Southeast Alaska. This isn’t just a desk job managing numbers; it’s a hands-on leadership role where you will guide the people who keep our branches running and help our customers thrive.
What The Role Is All About
- Coach and Champion Your Branch Managers: You will be a mentor, strategic guide, and cheerleader for the managers running our physical locations. You are there to help them develop their teams, solve tough problems, and build careers.
- Bridge Strategy and Real-Life Execution: You’ll take big-picture company goals and turn them into clear, practical game plans that make sense for the unique economic landscape of Southeast Alaska.
- Keep Things Safe and Sound: Behind the scenes, you’ll work closely with compliance and audit teams. You’ll make sure your branches are operating safely, following regulations, and managing risk smoothly so our customers’ hard-earned money is always protected.
- Be the Voice of the Community: You’ll represent Wells Fargo locally, building strong relationships with clients and community leaders, and showing them how our digital banking tools can make their lives easier.
Who We Are Looking For
We value real-world capability and leadership over perfect checklists. To thrive in this role, you should bring:
- A Solid Financial Foundation: You have spent 7 or more years working in banking, financial services, or retail branch networks. (We also highly value equivalent leadership training, education, or military experience).
- Proven Leadership Experience: You have at least 3 years of direct management experience under your belt. Crucially, you know how to manage other managers and help them succeed.
- Adaptability and Warmth: Southeast Alaska is a unique place with diverse teams. You need a flexible coaching style that connects with different personalities and learning styles.
- Strong Analytical Instincts: You have a sharp eye for detail and can spot operational patterns, resolve bottlenecks, and make smart decisions under pressure.
- A Passion for Digital Tech: You are excited about the future of banking and can confidently show both your team and your customers how digital tools can simplify their financial lives.
The Realities of the Role
We want to be completely upfront about what this job takes:
- Travel is a Big Part of the Adventure: Because our branches are spread across Southeast Alaska, you will need to travel up to 50% of the time to be physically present with your teams.
- Saturdays: Our branches serve customers on the weekends, so your schedule will need to include working most Saturdays.
