About the Personal Banker Position

As an Associate Personal Banker, you’ll build good relationships with customers and help them with their banking needs.
Key duties include:
- Developing customer relationships through meaningful conversations and regular engagement.
- Learning about customers’ financial needs and connecting them with suitable products and services.
- Identifying opportunities to support branch growth while keeping customer needs at the center of each interaction.
- Opening new accounts and assisting customers with account-related requests.
- Supporting customers with credit applications.
- Handling cash and performing teller-line transactions accurately.
- Using digital banking tools and helping customers become comfortable with relevant technology.
- Following established procedures and regulatory requirements when providing customer service.
- Working with branch colleagues to connect customers with licensed bankers or other specialists when additional expertise is required.
- Recognizing potential risks and escalating concerns according to Wells Fargo procedures.
The position therefore requires a balance of customer service, accuracy, communication, and responsible decision-making.
Required Qualifications
The main requirement is straightforward for an entry-level banking job. Applicants need at least six months of experience working with customers, or similar experience from work, school, training, or military service.
Previous banking experience is not stated as mandatory.
However, candidates with experience in financial services or another regulated, customer-facing environment may have an advantage. Experience in such environments can demonstrate familiarity with accuracy, structured processes, customer expectations, and compliance requirements.

Schedule and Employment Requirements
The position requires the ability to work a schedule that includes Saturdays.
Employees may be required to move between cash-handling duties and other customer banking responsibilities depending on branch needs. Providing accurate service during account openings and ongoing account support is an important part of the position.
SAFE registration is required at employment, and Wells Fargo will begin the registration process after the employee starts.
The bank also says that employees in certain roles must meet standards for financial responsibility, character, fitness, and background. A credit report may be checked, but Wells Fargo does not include your credit score.
