Wells Fargo is looking for a Relationship Banker to join their branch in Winter Haven, FL. This isn’t just a role for processing transactions; it’s a career path for someone who loves building long-term partnerships and helping people navigate their financial lives. Wells Fargo was recently ranked as the #1 financial services employer on LinkedIn’s 2025 “Top Companies” list, making this a prime spot for professional growth.
What the Job is Really Like
Relationship Banker at Wells Fargo: As a Relationship Banker, you are the primary face of the branch for many customers. You aren’t just sitting behind a desk waiting for people to walk in; you are proactive. You’ll spend your time reaching out to existing clients, scheduling appointments, and having deep “discovery” conversations to figure out exactly what they need to succeed financially.
Your Daily Responsibilities:
- Growth & Management: You’ll manage a portfolio of both individual and business customers, looking for ways to help them grow their deposits, credit, and investments.
- Problem Solving: You’ll handle everyday banking needs, from opening new accounts to resolving complex service requests.
- Internal Networking: You’ll act as a hub, introducing customers to specialists in Wealth Management, Home Lending, and Business Banking when their needs get more specialized.
- Digital Advocacy: You’ll teach customers how to use the Wells Fargo mobile app and digital tools to make their lives easier.
- Risk Management: You’ll ensure every document is accurate and every policy is followed to keep both the customer and the bank secure.
The Licensing Path (LP to SAFE)
If you aren’t already licensed, Wells Fargo has a clear roadmap for you. You may start as a Relationship Banker LP (License Pending). This is a temporary status while the bank supports you through the Branch Network Licensed Banker program. You’ll be required to obtain:
- FINRA Series 6 and 63 (and the SIE exam).
- State Insurance Licenses.
- Some states may also require the Series 65. Once you pass these, you transition into the full Relationship Banker (SAFE) role.
What You Need to Get the Job
- Customer Service Roots: At least 2 years of customer service experience (this can include military or training experience).
- Needs Assessment: 1+ year of experience identifying customer needs and resolving issues.
- Relationship Building: 1+ year of experience building professional partnerships.
- Availability: You must be able to work a schedule that includes most Saturdays.
- Financial Fitness: Because this is a SAFE role, you must meet specific financial and criminal background standards.
Why Join This Branch?
- Location: You’ll be based at 5720 Cypress Gardens Blvd, Winter Haven, FL.
- The “Well Life”: Wells Fargo emphasizes work-life balance, competitive pay, and “robust benefits” that support you outside of the office.
- Long-Term Career: This role is specifically designed for professionals who want to transition from basic banking into complex consultative expertise.
