Wells Fargo is looking for someone experienced, detail-driven, and comfortable working in complex financial environments to join our Capital Finance Operations team.
This isn’t just a back-office job where you process numbers in isolation. You’ll be working on real deals that help businesses grow, handling large, structured loans that often involve multiple lenders, moving parts, and tight timelines across the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
If you enjoy making sure everything lines up perfectly behind the scenes and you like being the person others rely on when things get complicated, this role will feel very familiar.
What Your Day-to-Day Really Looks Like
- You’ll be responsible for managing the full journey of a loan, from the moment it’s set up to the day it’s paid off.
- Some days you’re setting up loan accounts, organizing tranches, or making sure a payoff goes through cleanly. Other days, you’re deep in the details, checking interest calculations, reviewing fees, or sorting out expense reimbursements like legal or field exam costs.
- A big part of the job is keeping everything financially accurate. That means reconciling numbers, catching discrepancies early, and making sure nothing slips through the cracks.
- You’ll also work closely with syndicated loan structures, where multiple lenders are involved. This includes coordinating transactions, handling participation movements, and making sure settlements are completed correctly and on time. You’ll often be the person others come to when they need clarity or quick answers.
Why Attention to Detail Really Matters Here
You’ll be reviewing credit agreements and making sure what’s in our systems actually matches what’s written in the contracts. Tools like LUCAS will be part of your daily work, and accuracy is non-negotiable, because even small errors can create big issues in structured finance.
It’s Not Just Execution, You’ll Also Be a Guide
- This role isn’t only about doing the work, it’s also about helping others do it better.
- You’ll support and guide junior team members, share what you know, and help the team stay aligned when things get complex. You’ll also be expected to spot opportunities to improve how things are done, whether that’s simplifying a workflow, reducing manual steps, or making processes more efficient.
- Your experience becomes part of how the team grows.
What We’re Looking For (In Real Terms)
- We’re looking for someone who has been in commercial loan servicing long enough to understand how things really work, not just in theory, but in practice.
- Ideally, you’ve spent at least 4 years in this space, especially if you’ve worked with asset-based lending or syndicated loans.
- You should be comfortable working across different systems, switching between tasks, and staying organized even when things get busy. Excel and Microsoft Office should feel natural to you, not something you have to think twice about.
- A background in finance or accounting is important too, especially if you’ve worked with reconciliations, settlements, or anything involving debits and credits.
- Just as important: you should be someone who communicates well. You’ll be working with relationship managers, legal teams, and risk professionals, so being able to explain issues clearly and solve problems together matters a lot.
Why People Like This Role
- You’re joining a team that operates at a very high level in the syndicated lending space, often recognized as a leader in the industry.
- But beyond the title, what really stands out is the exposure. You’ll see complex deals, work with experienced professionals, and build a strong foundation in structured finance operations.
- Wells Fargo also offers room to grow, strong benefits, and a hybrid work setup, so you get a balance between working remotely and collaborating in person when needed.
Estimated Compensation Package
While Wells Fargo often provides a specific range based on the candidate’s geographic location (e.g., Charlotte, NC vs. New York, NY), a Senior Specialist in the Capital Finance/Wholesale division typically sees the following:
