The Opportunity

We are looking for a Remote Accessibility Specialist to act as a hands-on expert for our web and cloud-based applications. In this role, you will be the guardian of digital inclusivity, ensuring our products meet high standards of accessibility, security, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Technical Assessments: Conduct thorough manual and automated accessibility audits based on WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA standards, including screen reader evaluations and keyboard navigation.
  • Tool Management: Run enterprise-level scans (such as Accessibility Insights), troubleshoot configuration errors, and identify false positives.
  • Remediation Support: Provide clear, actionable, and technically grounded advice to engineering teams to help them resolve accessibility findings.
  • Collaboration & Reporting: Maintain dashboards, track assessment progress, and contribute to larger accessibility initiatives across various organizations and tools.

Required Qualifications

  • Certification: Must hold a valid accessibility certification (e.g., IAAP CPACC, WAS, or equivalent).
  • Experience: At least 6+ years in accessibility engineering, technical compliance, or assessment roles.
  • Technical Skills: Deep understanding of WCAG guidelines and hands-on proficiency with both manual and automated testing tools.
  • Communication: Exceptional ability to articulate complex accessibility issues to both technical developers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work Ethic: A steady professional history and the ability to manage complex workflows independently.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with Azure or Power Platform environments.
  • Experience managing scan schedules and compliance readiness for large-scale, multi-team projects.
  • Background in broader security or compliance assessment.

Compensation

  • Pay: The anticipated hourly range for Washington-based candidates is $45.67 to $48.08, depending on experience and qualifications.
