Wells Fargo is seeking a Branch Operations Coordinator to join its Consumer Banking and Lending division at the Cypress Village retail branch in Irvine, California.
This hybrid operational and leadership-support role bridges the gap between client service and risk management. You will be responsible for overseeing the daily teller line operations, approving transactions, mitigating financial risk, and helping the branch manager maintain a smooth, compliant environment.
Position Overview
- Location: 14211 Jeffrey Rd, Irvine, CA 92620
- Role Type: Full-Time, In-Branch (Retail Operations)
- Schedule Expectation: Must be flexible to work a retail banking schedule that includes most Saturdays.
Major Responsibilities
- Teller Line Oversight: Resolve daily operational roadblocks on the teller line, accurately process transactions, and step in to review and formally approve higher-limit or complex teller requests under established regional policies.
- Risk & Compliance Management: Complete critical operational activities with an absolute focus on minimizing risk, identifying potential fraud or suspicious account activity, and executing retail loss prevention controls.
- Customer Experience & Digital Advocacy: Deliver high-touch customer service by building community relationships, handling complex issue escalations, and educating clients on Wells Fargo’s mobile and digital banking solutions.
- Leadership Support: Partner closely with the Branch Manager to assist with employee scheduling, routine administrative tasks, and motivating a diverse branch team to reach their full operational potential.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: At least 1+ years of customer service and issue resolution support experience (or an equivalent combination of corporate work, education, or military experience).
Needed Skills & Core Traits
- Cash Handling & Control: Direct experience managing high-volume cash draw transactions and balancing processes.
- Fraud Prevention: A strong eye for detail with the ability to spot risky account behaviors or potential check/identity fraud to proactively protect the bank and its customers.
- Technical Savvy: Comfort explaining digital banking products and effortlessly migrating traditional cash clients to mobile app technology.
- Military Alignment: Wells Fargo highly values relevant military experience,specifically backgrounds in human resources, personnel benefits management, transitions, or recruiting operations.
